    Product Descriprion

The ELBO RCBO, or Residual Current Operated Circuit Breaker, complies with EN IEC 61009-1 and integrates protection against overloads, short circuits, and earth faults using both Type B and C tripping characteristics. It provides multi-layered safety by preventing direct and indirect contact and mitigating fire risks caused by insulation faults, making it suitable for both residential and commercial power distribution systems, including engineering projects and wholesale applications. It also allows for safe circuit isolation.

With a high breaking capacity of 10kA at 240V AC, the device employs dual tripping mechanisms: a thermal unit for overloads and an electromagnetic release for rapid short-circuit interruption in milliseconds. Rated currents range from 6A to 40A, segmented into specific steps to meet diverse project requirements. The residual current tripping time is hierarchical, operating within 0.1 seconds at the rated differential current and within 0.04 seconds at five times that value, ensuring reliable performance even in high-demand installations.

Conductor sizes correspond to current ratings, from 1mm² for 6A up to 10mm² for 40A. Terminals are tightened to a standard torque of 2N·m, or 2.5N·m for the 25A model. The compact modular design allows for easy installation on 35mm DIN rails and features clear ON/OFF indicators, ideal for mass assembly in distribution panels and large-scale projects. It is optimized to protect against sinusoidal AC earth faults in building electrical systems.
